Context:India Established Individual Bilateral ‘Air Bubbles’ with France, Germany and US.
*India has established individual bilateral bubbles with France and the US which will allow airlines of either country to operate international flights, civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday, adding that similar arrangement with Germany and the UK will soon be permitted.
*India is planning to establish such agreements with the UK, under which 2 flights a day will be operated between Delhi and London. The similar arrangements with the United Arab Emirates till 26th July, 2020.
*From India, Air India will be operating flights to France and US under these bubbles.
* American carrier United Airlines to operate 18 flights between India and US between 17th to 31st July.
*Air France will operate 28 flights from 18th July to 1st of August between Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Paris.
*Scheduled international passenger flights have been suspended in India since March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic. After nearly two months of suspension to combat the coronavirus outbreak, the government resumed scheduled domestic passenger flights on May 25.
