GRAP Stage II kicks in as Delhi’s air quality may turn ‘very poor-The Commission for Air Quality Management recently directed authorities to enforce stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

What is GRAP?
Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-

A set of emergency measures taken to reduce air pollution.

Include banning construction activities and entry of trucks into Delhi.

Exceptions for a ban on diesel generators - medical services, elevators, airports, and railway stations among others.


Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) is projected to cross 301 (“very poor” category).

Use of coal and firewood in hotels, restaurants and open eateries

Increased parking fees for private vehicles in the NCR
