VIVAD SE VISHWAS-THE HINDU-18-02-2020

1. This bill has passed in Union cabinet to solve all the pending cases that have been registered in various tribunals like the Commissioner (Appeals), Income Tax Appellate Tribunals (ITATs), Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs), High Courts and the Supreme Court.

2. This bill is similar to the Sabka Vishwas Scheme for indirect taxes. This was a huge success.

3. No appellate tribunals can intervene in the dispute once it is resolved.

4. If a person gives false information or violates the Income Tax act 1961, then the case shall be investigated again.
